Could you describe the programme of this
recording?
I have chosen to record the Sonata K333, a very luminous
work, the Sonata in C minor K457 and the Fantasia in C
minor K475. The last two are multifaceted works, at once
dramatic and virtuosic, which constitute a real challenge
for the performer in terms of technique, melodic invention,
theatricality, romance . . . It takes a monumental amount
ofwork to produce a satisfactory result. This repertory calls
for the maximum of your technique, the quintessence of
yourmusicality.Andaboveall, agreat deal ofwillpower and
patience. I only know I have achieved some form of truth
when I manage to communicate with the audience. Its
reaction is the only real proof you’ve achieved something.
You are addressing someone when you play.
