‘It’s very difficult to convey the
mood Mozart might have been
in at the moment when he
composed these notes, for he can
give us both immense joy and
immense sadness. His music is
never superficial. The language he
speaks is a language all his own,
and it is up to performers to make
it their own too. It is the Mozartian
language.
