When two people share the same star sign – Sagittarius, in our case – that creates bonds between them! I went to congratulate Astrig at the end of the launch concert for the release of her first album in 2018, captivated by her sound, the ardour and nobility of her playing. She exclaimed: ‘But Dana, you’re my idol!’ In 1995, I gave one of my first concerts in France in her home town, Romans-sur-Isère. That event had remained imprinted on her memory like a gem. If I remain Astrig’s childhood memory, the style of Armenian music she plays, so close to the music of certain parts of Romania, reflects my own childhood memories. DANA CIOCARLIE & FRIENDS 25
