14 MODERN TIMES To create their identity, the musicians have immersed themselves in the Viennese tradition of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, and have explored the world of Brahms with equal passion. The accompaniment of great masters of the genre such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl and Patrick Jüdt at the European Chamber Music Academy has been essential to their training. ‘They opened our ears. Thanks to them, we realised that spoken language and the language of music are incredibly close, and it became unthinkable for us to consider a musical phrase without including it in a rhetorical discourse.’ says cellist Bo-Geun Park. At the same time, Le Trio Wanderer and Miguel da Silva, violist with Le Quatuor Ysaÿe, have allowed them to develop their knowledge of the French school, whose heritage they also lay claim to. ‘Today, we're trying to find our own path by referring to these two aesthetics that have nurtured us,’ adds Hugo. And there is no question of the trio limiting its horizons. Taking multiple paths is so much more formative and exhilarating!
