48 CHANSON BOHÈME Adrien La Marca Adrien La Marca’s playing is characterised by profound expressiveness combined with an instrumental mastery that ranges over every repertory. His unique richness of sound combined with a natural charisma creates an immediate emotional bond with his audience. The year 2014 marked an important turning point in his musical life: he was voted Instrumental Solo Discovery of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique Classique in France. In 2016, Adrien became the first classical musician to receive the prestigious Fondation Lagardère scholarship. He has also held awards from the Banque Populaire, L’Or du Rhin and Safran foundations. Adrien has won many important prizes at international competitions, including the William Primrose, Lionel Tertis, Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms Competitions. During the 2018-2020 seasons, he made his debut with major orchestras: Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchester National de France, National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Capitole de Toulouse, Insula orchestra, the Orchester national de Metz, Centuries. He is also the first "Artist in Residence" with the Orchester Philharmonique Royal de Liège with which he recorded his second album "Heroes". In 2021, he gave the world premiere of his viola version of Schumann's Cello Concerto with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, played at the Saint-Denis Festival with David Fray, at the closing concert of the Aix Easter Festival. in Provence with Renaud Capuçon and made remarkable debuts at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, at the Solsberg Festival with Sol Gabetta and at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn with Daniel Hope. Adrien La Marca plays a viola by Nicola Bergonzi made in Cremona in 1780, generously lent to him by the Boubo-Music Foundation.
